I'm a seasoned business professional. In the early 1990s, I started and grew a company selling market research data and analytical software (which was a lot more exciting than it sounds) in the UK. The business grew to employ over 70 staff and a multi-million dollar turnover. I worked with some of the world's largest companies - and during this time I mentored local small and start-up businesses as part of the UK government's Business Link program.
In the early 2000s, I met my now-husband and this triggered a sequence of events, which entailed me leaving the corporate world and embarking on a series of adventures. These include keeping sheep and goats in the North of England, taking a course in fibre art and then in 2005, saw us pack our belongings, six dogs (including a donkey-sized Pyrenean Mountain Dog) and heading to start our new life in the heart of rural Spain.
Our aim was to leave the corporate world behind and fine-tune the skills we already had to create independent businesses. And, as our track-record of successful websites, entrepreneurial endeavours and publications show.
Having spent the first part of my career working with large corporations, I started to follow my passion which is working with small and start-up independent businesses.
Over the years I have been blessed to have been mentored by some of the very best and in turn I have mentored those who are going to be the very best.
I now lead a happy life, still in the heart of rural Spain (north of Seville if you ever fancy a meetup :) ). We share our house with a selection of blind and/or rescue dogs and cats.
In a nutshell, here's a few highlights from the last few years:
Builderall Certified Partner
Perhaps one of the most exciting things to happen in recent years is that I took part in the first Builderall Certified Partner program, which entailed 3 months of training from the CEO, Brazilian and now US entrepreneur, Erick Salgado, in all aspects of the Builderall platform and digital marketing in general.
I spent the 12 years from 2005 to 2017 as writer and editor. I have written extensively online for publishers including the NYT co, and various traditional print companies. I write on a variety of subjects and write both under my own name and as a ghost writer.
Since leaving the corporate world, I have built on my already solid marketing skills, adapting them for independent business owners and entrepreneurs. I have loved seeing how we can adapt traditional marketing techniques to fit the online world.
I am pleased to have coached a wide variety of small and start-up business owners, typically in the creative field. E-commerce is my specialty, working with many Etsy sellers, building their business on Etsy or working with them to create their own e-commerce store. I have run numerous workshops and training programs helping people get online.
