Picture Kate with Freckles

Let's talk about me!

I have made jewellery for many years, using traditional silversmithing techniques and have undertaken a wide range of courses and classes. My designs are contemporary and I have worked with a wide variety of metals and stones.

I have also maintained a passion for the knitting and crochet that I learnt as a child, and this has developed into other textile crafts such as spinning, feltmaking and hand dying - often using the fleece of our small herd of angora goats and herdwick sheep.

It was inevitable that these two interests would combine, and one day I picked up a crochet hook and some silver wire and a new craft was burgeoning. The items on this website represent my current work, and I am planning to publish patterns and kits within this website to compliment my book which is being published by GMC publications later this year.

In 2005 with Ian my long suffering husband, our 6 dogs and Davy our equally long suffering cat, we packed up a transit van and headed to our new house in the heart of Spain. I hope to start offering craft holidays and workshops once we have done the necessary work on the house. This probably represents our biggest challenge todate and one that we are thouroughly looking forward to.
